The world of applications is going to change sooner or later. Since apps were born, work has been underway to create a system in which the creation of a single app serves to bring it to any system. Now, Google may have taken a giant step in this direction. Chrome Apps will be able to be installed as native apps on Android and iOS. They have already launched the framework that will be used for this. What does it mean for Chrome Apps to be installed natively on Android and iOS? As you know, developing applications for Android means having to develop them in an SDK using Java. Developing applications for iOS means doing so using Apple's SDK and in Objective-C. The problem is that applications for Chrome are developed using web standards, and there HTML, CSS, and Javascript take precedence. How are Chrome applications brought to iOS and Android natively? Basically, by using a framework that takes care, so to speak, of adapting them, allowing apps developed with HTML, CSS, and Javascript to have access to the native operating system's own functions, as well as to the hardware or sensors of the device itself. What advantages does this have? They are really basic. Any application developed for Chrome can be installed as if it were native for Android and iOS, without anything else being needed other than the use of this framework. It is a great advance, and will even allow generating applications that can be uploaded to Google Play and the App Store. For now, users who want to have access to Google's framework can access the website that has been created with the instructions to get started. It is necessary, mind you, to have an Android SDK with version 4.4.2 KitKat or later. Compatible applications are expected to be for Ice Cream Sandwich or later, and iOS 6 or later. And obviously, it is necessary to have a computer with Mac OS and for Apple to accept the application in order to send it to the App Store. We leave you at the end the link to the page with the instructions to get Google's framework.
