Thank you for inviting me. In the world of Web3, I am known as Catswithouthats, an advocate against dog memes and a gonzo economist. I still believe in cryptocurrencies as tools and do not fall into the euphoria of wanting to take them to the moon.
Let's first talk about the centralized Internet. What is your opinion on it? What are its pros and cons?
I think it is part of the evolution of technology. In its early days, it needed support and structure, but now it is at a point where it can evolve. The main benefits of centralization include that someone else assumes the operating costs and provides easy access to users without needing to sell their data. However, it has also become a very controlled system with a lack of privacy. Now we are heading towards a new era of the Internet that, although promising, still does not fulfill all its promises.
What does decentralization mean to you?
It means ownership, independence, and freedom. It is a transition process, not something that happens overnight. We are still at a stage where traditional systems play a significant role. However, with innovative technologies, we can move towards a more personalized and secure Internet. Additionally, it helps reduce single points of failure and encourages greater participation.
How does decentralization change the Internet?
It allows for a more personal experience tailored to each user. It facilitates privacy without compromising usability, although many applications are still under development. It also fosters collaboration and collective decision-making, though always with the condition of offering adequate incentives.
What is the best thing about a decentralized Internet?

Are you currently working on any project related to the decentralization of the Internet?
Yes, I am part of a project that seeks to develop a new economic system based on collective governance and value generation. The goal is to eliminate oppressive economic practices and enable collective decisions in resource allocation through the use of blockchain technology.
What are the biggest challenges to achieving a decentralized web?
Getting people to actively participate, moving away from the speculative nature of cryptocurrencies, and confronting traditional systems that oppose decentralization.
Do you have any fears regarding the decentralization of the Internet?
I am concerned about the attitude of some people who seek to monetize everything without actually adding value. I dislike the degeneration of this concept under the pretext of decentralization when in reality they are only looking for quick and easy profits.
How do you see the future of the decentralized Internet?
It has great potential, but there is still a lot of work to be done.
